American pop star Britney Spears turned 40 on December 2 and went jet setting with fiancé Sam Asghari for a getaway to mark her special day.

In a recent post, Sam posted a photo of her kissing Britney while standing on an aircraft. The couple announced through social media that they were engaged back in September 2021, two months ahead of Britney's conservatorship ending.

Fans speculated whether the two have tied the knot privately after Sam referred to Britney as his "wife" in his birthday message.

He wrote, "I call you Lioness because I admire your relentless strength, I'm inspired by your beautiful heart, I celebrate your smile that lights up my world. Everyday is your birthday my queen. Happy 1st birthday to my wife #dec2nd @britneyspears."

However, Britney posted a similar photo of them on her social media and expressed how excited she was to be traveling with her "fiancé" Sam.

"Oh the precious joy today !!! Me and my fiancé are so excited to be going away…as you can see I'm not 800 pounds like the paps have me in pics … I've been working out and it's real … whatever!!!! God thank you for being able to go out of the country !!!! I am blessed !!!!” the post read.

Britney and Sam first met in 2016 on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video. They got engaged in September after five years of dating. For his marriage proposal, Sam collaborated with Forever Diamonds NY founder, Roman Malayev, to create a four-carat diamond engagement ring with an engraving of the word "Lioness" -- his nickname for Britney.

The pop star regained control of her finances and personal life when a judge terminated her 13-year conservatorship that governed her life and $60 million estate.
