Boobay at ex-boyfriend na si Kent Juan Resquir, nananatiling magkaibigan
Taong 2021 nang kumpirmahin ng longtime boyfriend ni Boobay na si Kent Juan Resquir na hiwalay na sila ng komedyante at The Boobay And Tekla Show (TBATS) host.
Sa panayam ng PEP.ph kay Boobay sa presscon ng Fil-Am romcom movie na Take Me To Banaue noong March 3, 2022, inamin niyang hindi pa siya nakaka-move on mula sa kanilang hiwalayan.
Dito rin niya inamin na si Kent ang tumapos sa kanilang walong taong relasyon habang nasa Australia ito, at nasa Pilipinas naman si Boobay. Tatlong taong nasa long-distance relationship sina Kent at Boobay.
Noong March 5, nag-post si Boobay ng larawan ni Kent habang sila ay nasa bakasyon sa El Nido, Palawan.
Sa sumunod niyang post, inamin ni Boobay na sinubukan nilang muling i-workout out ang kanilang relasyon pero tuluyan din nila itong tinapos.
"Thank you, Lord, for this day… This travel made me realize and accept the fact that indeed, nothing is permanent… Tried to save it, us, but we both know that it is not the same anymore, it is no longer there...
"Change is inevitable, now I agree… I have learned that in order to move on, you have to LET GO. No matter how hard… Yes, Let go.
"But NEVER FORGET, never forget to cherish all the learnings and all the beautiful memories (travels) you have spent together, and that, I can promise to keep them inside... "
Ayon kay Boobay, nakuha na niya ang inaasam niyang closure mula sa dating nobyo habang sila ay nagbabakasyon sa Palawan.
"So there, thank you so much Kent @kentjuanresquir , for the 8 Wonderful Years of sharing your love and life with me, I am forever grateful, no regrets...
"Thank you for this moment with you here in El Nido, thank you for this CLOSURE .. Because of this, I was able to find my PEACE and PIECE again…

Masaya raw si Boobay sa narating ni Kent na isang physiotherapist sa Australia.
Kahit magkalayo, pinaalala niya sa ex-boyfriend na nananatili pa rin silang magkaibigan nito.
"I'm more than happy for what you have become in Australia… I am just here, don't forget that.
"As you said, “enjoy being single!”, noted… I think I just have to appreciate what's left, what was saved- friendship.
"So there, until our next trip I guess… as FRIENDS. #nextchapter"
