We ask Mic Test Entertainment executive producer Ms. Carol Bunagan, wife of Kapuso comedy genius Michael V, to share some tips about planning a family vacation.

The Bunagans are no strangers to out-of-the-country trips.

In fact, some of the places they visited as a family include Hawaii, Canada, and most recently Switzerland.

Mommy Carol gave three things to consider in planning a family vacation:

Get tour packages

Admittedly, a tour package is a bit pricey. But for Mommy Carol, planning the whole vacay will be less stressful if you get a tour package than by doing it yourself.

She added that tour package is great especially if you are visiting the place for the first time.

It's definitely worthy no matter how much it costs.

Carol said, “Especially for a first time destination, first time magvi-visit ng place. As a practice I get a tour guide or minsan kumukuha ako ng package para pagdating mo relax ka.

“The next best thing of getting a package tour is to have someone from the place to guide you around.”

Get a private tour if possible

Another way to make the trip enjoyable is by opting for a private tour.

Carol tells GMANetwork.com that this kind of tour is perfect for children since they will not be burden with the strict call time, which happens if you join a group tour.

“Kasi, 'pag sumabay ka doon sa mga tour groups, ang hirap nun kasi kailangan ihi-hit mo 'yung call time nila every day with kids. Hindi siya practical.”

Travel light

Traveling light is advisable because it will be difficult to carry your bag or luggage during transfers.

But, every vacation is unique, so plan ahead and bring what is necessary for your trip.

Carol said, “Kung kayang packed light, siyempre, advisable. Depende sa destination, iba-iba priority.”
