Jake Vargas: "Doon lumabas 'yung totoo talagang Inah de Belen!"
In their recent guesting in Mars Pa More, Inah de Belen and Jake Vargas tested their memory about the special moments they shared as a couple during the Bagay Tayo Couple's Challenge segment.
The first two questions revealed different answers from the Kapuso couple, but the final one is when they got it right: Sino mas naging reklamador dito sa inyong hiking adventure?
Both of them answered 'Inah', prompting the actress to tell the story of their most challenging travel together.
“Actually, itong hiking na ito, this was the easier one pa. May hiking pa kami na mas malala pa, na talagang alam ko din sa sarili ko na sobrang reklamadora ko. Promise,” she said.
“Doon lumabas 'yung totoong talagang Inah,” Jhake added.
The hike they were referring to was the one they had last year at Mt. Balingkilat, Zambales.
According to Inah, the travel time amounted to a total of 24 hours.
“Itong trip na 'to, hindi kasi namin alam na ganun siya ka-grabe; na expert levels na pala 'yung hiking level. 12 hours paakyat, 12 hours pababa.
“Sobrang init pa, tapos nung malapit na kami doon sa tuktok, hindi namin alam na ganyan ka-steep na. 'Tsaka talagang if you miss a step, you will fall,” she explained.
Inah, however, clarified that she too did not expect her reaction.
“Actually, hindi ko din inexpect kasi na ganun yung magiging reaction ko, kasi malakas naman 'yung loob ko. Pero doon talaga, parang feeling ko parang it's either I slip or I do not slip - e clumsy ako.
“E andon siya (Jake) sa baba, umiiyak na ako kasi hindi ko na talaga kaya, hindi talaga ako makagalaw as in nag-freeze talaga ako. Ta's siya, sabi niya sa'kin, 'Love! Kaya mo yan! Relax mo lang yung sarili mo!'”
Inah clarified that the gruesome experience did not end there.
“Yung pababa naman, we had to go down really early. Dapat mag-oovernight kami sa top, we had to go down na kasi medyo malakas na yung hangin. Walang kaming tulog nun, as in kumain lang kami, we tried to sleep but we couldn't kasi gumaganyan na yung tent namin.
“'Di ba, madaling araw, so sobrang pissed na ako. Ta's nagagalit pa ako sa kanya kasi madilim na nga, ang lakas pa ng loob niya.
“As in sobrang nagdidilim na talaga yung paningin ko, nagiging parang sinaniban na ako ng loob ng sobrang negative energy talaga.”
“Pa-monster na siya,” Jake inserted.
“Tapos nadagdagan pa. E 'yung mga talahib doon ang tataas talaga, so mga 1am banda yun, mga 12 midnight bigla akong ginanon ng talahib [sa mata]. Jusko umiiyak na ako,” Inah continued.
The actress then thanked her boyfriend. She said, “Actually siya 'yung nag-aabsorb ng negative energy ko. 'Tsaka ang love and patience niya rin sa 'kin nung time na y'un. Guys promise talaga!”
