The reopening of BenCab Museum comes after Baguio City is declared to be under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) from July 15 to July 31.

BenCab Museum is owned by National Artist Benedicto Cabrera or BenCab, and is home to his paintings and collections of indigenous Cordillera art, and also some artworks of other Filipino artists.

The museum has been temporarily closed since March 17 in accordance with the strict quarantine regulations imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Once BenCab reopens, safety protocols will be implemented to ensure the safety of its visitors.

There will be a temperature check upon entering the premises and guests are required to accomplish a health declaration form.

Wearing of face masks and observing physical distancing will also be mandatory.

Those who refuse to abide to the safety measures and/or show signs of illness, especially those who have a temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius and above, will be denied entry.

Moreover, BenCab Museum will also operate below its 50% capacity on a room-by-room basis to guarantee that safe distancing at a minimum of one meter is observed.

Group tours inside the museum will also be temporarily suspended.

Nevertheless, visitors can still avail of the guided tours of the BenCab Farm and Garden Eco Trail if the weather permits, since it is an outdoor space.

BenCab's in-house coffee shop, Café Sabel, will also be open although they will have limited offerings on their menu and outdoor seating will be encouraged.

The temporary operating schedule of BenCab Museum beginning July 18 will be Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
