In a recent Facebook update, Ate Gay revealed that he had to be rushed to the hospital due to side effects from chemotherapy and treatments.
"Late na ako nakaranas ng side effect," Ate Gay shared. " 'Di makakain dahil sa daming singaw ng bibig ko kaya nagpaconfine. 48hrs 'yan nakatusok sa akin 'yan. ('Yan) muna ang paraan ng pagpapakain."
The comedian posted a photo from his hospital bed, showing his resilience despite the challenges.
Netizens quickly took to the comment section to express love and support, praying for Ate Gay's recovery.
Just last November, Ate Gay celebrated a major milestone after completing chemotherapy. He expressed gratitude to his supporters as he continues with radiation and immunotherapy treatments.
During the first session of the therapy, Ate Gay received what he calls a miracle as his tumor shrunk from 10 centimeters to 8.5 centimeters after just a few days.
Last September, many were shocked when Ate Gay revealed his stage IV cancer diagnosis. He also expressed appreciation to everyone who supported him during his treatment.
