Bela Padilla on uncle Robin Padilla: 'We manage to agree to disagree'

Bela Padilla clarified her relationship with her uncle, actor and Senator Robin Padilla.
Because of what happened in the Senate on May 13, the actress said she was once again asked about the status of her relationship with Robin Padilla.
Bela shared, "Growing up, my tito Robin was kind to me and my family. I will be forever grateful for this. But as our careers flourished and took different directions, with him entering politics, our personal encounters have become scarcer. Our ideologies also differed."
The actress clarified that she does not live near her uncle and last saw him on May 8, when they shared the same call time. Prior to that, she said they had not reunited in three years.
She also stressed that Robin's political affiliations do not reflect her own beliefs and convictions.
"We are related, but we manage to agree to disagree. I remain grateful to his kindness, but I also maintain an independent and personal sense of being in charge of my career, choices, and convictions."
Hours later, Bela responded to a netizen who described her uncle as “stupid and dumb.”
She wrote, "And since there's no call to action here, what do you want to achieve? What does this do for you or for me? Wala naman diba? So what was this for? Calling someone dumb doesn't make you smarter. Surely doesn't make you kinder. This isn't the win you think it is."
Because of recent events, and since I'm being asked daily, I wish to express my thoughts on the issue surrounding the casting of my uncle in Blood vs Duty, and the current situation hounding the Senate.

Sorry, but, what? I'm also assigned projects too. I was cast in this project in December. My uncle was added on recently. I have no power whatsoever in casting decisions. Bela's maternal grandmother is Eva Cariño-Padilla, Robin's mother.
