BJ Pascual finds 'new muse' in Shuvee Etrata for latest Musings shoot

Celebrity photographer BJ Pascual has found his “new muse,” and it's none other than The Master Cutter actress Shuvee Etrata.
Shuvee will be featured in BJ's latest “Musings” photoshoot, where she wears incredible pieces by Rajo Laurel. The concept is based on the iconic muse “Sabel” by National Artist BenCab.
In a Chika Minute report by Aubrey Carampel, BJ commended the Sparkle artist's professionalism during their collaboration.
“That shoot was actually our first shoot—our first time working together ever. And she's very easy, very comfortable,” BJ told 24 Oras. “Hindi ko ina-expect na ganun pala siya kakalog in real life. And she's a joy to shoot. Parang siya professional.”
BJ then talked about the process of mounting his “Musings” with Shuvee. According to the popular photographer, “I've been seeing her on her makeup artist's Instagram. Ang tagal ko nang walang 'Musings,' actually. I rarely have time, and hindi na rin ako masyado na-inspire.”
“Until noong nakita ko 'yung mukha ni Shuvee, I was just like, 'Oh, she looks so Filipina, so fresh, so new.'”
He added, “Si Shuvee talaga 'yung perfect na morena muse for the moment. She's young, she's fresh, she's very candid—authentic and very Filipino. Hindi niya kinakahiya kung saan siya nanggaling, and that's what makes her lovable.”
Meanwhile, the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate was in disbelief that BJ Pascual wanted to work with her.
She shared with 24 Oras, “Sabi ko talaga, 'Totoo ba 'to? Parang paano ako nakilala ni BJ? Feel ko ikaw lang gumagawa-gawa niyan.' Hanggang sa totoo pala talaga.
“Tapos gusto na ako makausap ni BJ. Tapos hindi ko na alam—parang ang bilis-bilis na nang pangyayari. Nag-book na kaagad si BJ ng isang napakalaking studio.”
Recalling the “Sabel-inspired” photoshoot, Shuvee said she was very careful while wearing Rajo Laurel's majestic creation.
“Noong sinuot ko talaga, sabi ko, 'Paano ako nito ipo-pose?' Parang noong sinuot ko pala, 'Totoo ba ito?'” the Sparkle actress said. “Takot na takot akong isuot din kasi baka mapaano or ma… As in, sobrang ingat na ingat ako.”
The morena beauty also became emotional after being chosen by BJ for the collaboration and receiving positive feedback from netizens.
“Sobrang nakakaiyak, nakakakilig. Sobrang excited ako. And looking at the feedback of people, doon ako mas nasiyahan. BJ Pascual is known to be one of the most talented photographers in the industry, so nandun na po talaga 'yung trust ko.
“'Yung parang alam kong kahit anong mangyari, magiging maganda 'to. Nandun ako sa feeling na I'm just really excited. Ma-consider lang ako as his muse, okay na ako.”
