Carlos Morales on why he left show business

Carlos Morales, who became famous as a sexy actor, revealed in an interview why he left showbiz four years ago.
In an exclusive chat with YouTube content creator Morly Alinio, he shared that the uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic made him try his luck in the United States.
He said, “Basically, kasi ' di ba, yung panahon ng COVID din. 'Tapos feeling ko that time... kasi nothing is certain that time. Hindi natin alam kung ano 'yung extent nung COVID na 'yun, so pumunta ako sa States, 'tapos nag-exam ako.”
Carlos, who graduated from Olivarez College in Parañaque City with a degree in nursing, passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) in the U.S. at 47.
He continued, “Fortunately, I passed and then, my mom died. Medyo parang na-depress din ako, so I have to stay there for a bit bago ako bumalik ngayon.
"So, from now on siguro, I will just you know come back and forth. Siyempre, kasi passion ko rin talaga tong filmmaking tsaka 'yung showbiz e.”
In addition, Carlos stated that he was considering a career in medicine then, but his path took him in a different route.
“Before ako mag-showbiz dati I made sure na tinapos ko muna 'yung nursing ko. 'Tsaka, at the same time dapat kasi pre-med yun, pero hindi ko [kinaya], kasi masyado mahirap. So, kaya naging model na ako that time, tapos pumunta na ako sa Viva 'yun 'yung first big contract ko sa Viva Films and then from there pumalaot na tayo.”
He continued, “Ito nga sa COVID time pumunta ako ng Amerika at nag-test na ako ng NCLEX, 'yun po 'yung local board [exam] sa States para maging registered nurse ka. Hanggang sa ngayon, up to this time nurse na po ako dun sa Amerika.”

People often recognized Carlos Morales for his sexy roles. But before this, he was part of the youth-oriented variety show That's Entertainment hosted by the late German “Kuya Germs” Moreno.
Carlos recalled that he was back up dancer before becoming an actor.
“We started as a dance group so meron ako ka-group from Olongapo na yun talaga 'yung core na grupo ko. So, nagpunta kami ng Manila, naging back-up dancer muna kami ni Karla Estrada.
“So, dun kami nag-start and then eventually, sa That's nagkaroon kami ng parang regular show, na sumayaw kami bilang dancer. Pero hindi ako 'yung naging host dun sa That's. Gusto ko sumayaw.”
