Cha Eun-woo baptized into Catholic Church during military service

According to a report by The Korea Herald, Cha Eun-woo's agency, Fantagio, confirmed that the actor-singer was baptized at a Catholic church in June during his mandatory military service. He received the baptismal name John the Apostle.
Military personnel in South Korea are allowed to take part in religious activities organized within their respective units while in service.

Despite his enlistment, fans have continued to see the actor on screen. His Netflix series The WONDERfools, opposite Park Eun-bin, premiered in May after it was first announced in November 2024.
According to Netflix, the series is "set in the doomsday-fearing year 1999" and follows "a group of awkward townies who unexpectedly gain superpowers and fight villains threatening the peace of Haeseong city" in a comedy action-adventure story.
Cha Eun-woo debuted in 2016 as a member of the K-pop group ASTRO before establishing himself as one of South Korea's sought-after actors. He is known for his roles in hit dramas such as Gangnam Beauty, True Beauty, A Good Day to Be a Dog, and Wonderful World.
In 2024, he also marked another milestone in his career with the release of his first solo EP, "Entity."
