The coronation night for The Miss Philippines pageant isn't until October 24, but The Miss Philippines organization is making sure to build up buzz even at this early stage.
The pageant organizers first released the photos of the 21 The Miss Philippines candidates last week, with contestants hailing even as far as California in the United States. The reveal comes after the screening for prospective candidates that was first announced last month.
The 21 women will be competing to succeed Pauline Amelinckx, who was named the first The Miss Philippines during a homecoming arranged for her and Mister Supranational Philippines Johannes Rissler.
The Miss Philippines pageant is described as a “celebration uniting Filipino communities all over the world to promote and preserve the rich culture and heritage of the Philippines.”
The Miss Philippines pageant is part of The Filipino Festival, which is described as “a celebration of everything Filipino from food, arts and crafts, music, fashion, film, and even pageants.”
