Dani Barretto reflects on Marjorie Barretto's decision to leave a relationship

Dani Barretto shared her experiences and lessons learned from her mother, Marjorie Barretto, with regard to her previous relationship.
She shared these details in her interview with Kylie Verzosa on the Almost Honest podcast
Dani said that her childhood was affected after witnessing the relationship struggles her mother went through at home. However, in the interview, Dani did not mention who Marjorie was in a relationship with.
"Sometimes kasi mas nakaka-build ng trauma sa mga bata if hindi ka umaalis. Kasi mas nakikita nila 'yung back and forth, 'yung sigawan, yung away, yung tension. Childhood namin 'yun, e. 'Yun yung childhood namin ng mga kapatid ko. Nasanay kami doon. We heard every yelling, the screaming, everything my mom went through, and tumatak sa amin 'yun. Mga bata kami, but that stayed with us."
Dani expressed her relief when her mom left her difficult situation.
"I'm just glad my mom left. I'm just glad my mom really saw that she did not deserve that and left."
She also reflected on how this experience shaped their personalities. Dani grew up alongside her siblings, Julia Barretto, Claudia Barretto, and Leon Barretto.
Dani is Marjorie's daughter with Kier Legaspi. While her siblings Julia, Claudia, and Leon are Marjorie's kids with her former husband, Dennis Padilla.
The celebrity mom said, "Because she did, I feel like that's why we're all strong women. I feel like all of us magkakapatid, feeling ko kaya matatapang or 'yung personality is strong kasi nakita namin sa mom namin."
Dani mentioned in the interview what she learned from their experience.
"You can leave situations like this. You are allowed to leave situations, lalo na if you're abused or being hurt or not valued. Puwede. Hindi ka trapped. You are allowed kahit very mahirap yung process of leaving or getting out, or you have to start again. There is a freedom that comes with it, and I saw it with my mom."
She added, "I saw how liberating it is for her to get out of that relationship. The woman she became after. Sabi ko, "Kaya kami ng mga kapatid ko ganito e."
