Denise Julia releases statement on BJ Pascual's allegations

Four days after announcing her social media break, up-and-rising OPM artist Denise Julia went to Instagram to air her side about BJ Pascual allegations that trended on the internet earlier this week.
During his appearance on the “Bad B*tch Bible” podcast hosted by Killa Kush, BJ shared his “worst” work experience and claimed that Denise canceled a supposed photo shoot and music video shoot with him approximately eight hours before the schedule.
The celebrity photographer said the "Morena" singer canceled due to a schedule conflict with her hairstylist.
On Wednesday, December 25, the OPM singer posted screenshots and videos on her Instagram account to clarify her side.

According to Denise Julia, they reached out to BJ in May 2024 and her manager sent a proposed budget to BJ's manager of PHP600,000 for the OPM singer's music video and PHP 50,000 for the “final and edited press photos” and art for the project on July 18.
This was after two Zoom calls between both parties and “a couple of personal calls” between Denise Julia and BJ.
However, BJ's manager only sent an updated cost sheet on August 11, almost a month after the proposal and three days before the shoot, with an estimate of PHP1.2M. Denise Julia's team said it was over their budget, but they stretched it to PHP800,000.
“We reached out to BJ back in May because we really wanted to work with him for my upcoming project, [...] and despite us following up many times and not getting replies for weeks at a time, [...] we were patient and pushed back our deadlines to accommodate BJ's schedule 'cause he knew that he was booked and busy,” Denise explained online.
She added, “I actually had to move my release date because I wanted to respect the fact that he was working and he had a lot of things to do, and as someone who really was a fan and really wanted to work with him, I wanted to adjust my time and my release date so that we can really work together for the album arts and the shoot.”
“BJ's team did not get back to us about this budget despite my manager checking in and following up to make sure that the budget is doable to begin with 'cause we can't really have a shoot date without us being sure if the budget is even feasible for them,” said Denise.
The OPM singer said, “Because on our end, we understand if this is not something that they can work with. We would've pulled back immediately already from the start if they had only told us that this was not doable for them [and] that's not the price range that they can work with; we will respect that and just move on and move past it and maybe work in the future with a different type of thing where both of us can align.
BJ's team later on sent another updated cost sheet, two days before the shoot, with an estimate of PHP1M.
In the end, both managers of BJ and Denise concluded that they were canceling the shoot due to differences in the production process.
Meanwhile, the OPM singer and the renowned photographer exchanged texts on December 24 and said they would settle the issue in person after the holidays to clarify everything.
BJ said to Denise Julia, “[...] I'm open to discussing it further to work a solution that respects both sides, [...] let's schedule a time to meet in person after the holidays as I believe this is a conversation best had face-to-face and given the attention it deserves.”
