BJ Pascual and Denise Julia are currently trending on X after the former reveals stressful encounter with the singer's team on a podcast.
The celebrity photographer openly shared his experience on Killa Kush's podcast, stating, "Ito na nga, this is very recent. Sobrang recent nito. Si Denise Julia."
BJ acknowledged that he had heard many negative things about Denise, but he still chose to work with her team for a shoot.
"I have heard so many bad things about her. So I guess medyo kasalanan ko rin na I still took the job. It was more pa nga of a passion project. Her manager, JV, called me many times, would message me on Instagram, we had like a meeting."
BJ mentioned that he was seeking something new at that time and wanted to support artists like Denise.
"At that time I was creatively burned out, and parang looking for something new to do. I was like yes, and I am a fan of her music. Especially queer artists, I love supporting young people."
He continued "In the beginning they want people to shoot her lang parang to change her image, level up daw ganyan. Girl, favorite ko 'yang mga ganyan, 'yung mga ime-makeover, ganyan."

BJ then received a call from Denise's team about a new album, and they wanted him to shoot the album cover.
"A few months later, tumawag sa akin. May bagong album, bagong single. They wanted me to shoot the album cover. I was like sige, game! I was really looking for something new to do. I volunteered to do the album cover and I also want to do the music video because I've never done a music video before."
He mentioned that he even invited his friends from the industry to collaborate with him.
"So, I got my friends onboard, even my friends who did not want to work with her because of the stories. Sabi ko sige na, 'Pagandahin natin s'ya.' Nakita ko naman kasi may potential, may igaganda pa."
BJ mentioned that he hired his friend, Princess Barretto. According to BJ, Princess is a top set designer in TV production commercials, and he arranged for her to work for free. He also noted that Lyn Alumno agreed to handle the styling.
"Ang babayaran na lang nila is manpower and materials. There is no talent fee. This is charity work na."
The day before the shoot, BJ and Denise's team held a meeting.
He said, "Super chill lang. May pina-revise pa sila na rates and they were questioning saan nanggaling 'yung meals for 30 people. My manager sent the list and a lot of them came from her team.
They reserved the Gamma studio and had to pay in full due to the last-minute nature of the shoot.
"Sabi ng manager ko, 'They want to cancel daw the shoot.' The reason was nag-flake daw 'yung hairstylist nila."
BJ recalled being stressed during this time because he was learning about these issues while on another shoot.
"Girl, this was already 10 p.m. Call time namin is 6 a.m. [the next day]. Siya [Denise] 8 a.m. How many hours na lang before the shoot? We have been setting the set since 4 p.m."
BJ mentioned that JV, Denise's manager, said they couldn't commit to the shoot. BJ's team discussed canceling the studio, production designer, and stylist.
"Biglang nag-backtrack si manager. Why did I go with everything, wala pa naman daw confirmation. Walang confirmation? Excuse me! This is the day before the shoot. Kayo ang nagpumilit mag-shoot on this day."
"Ayun, ayaw nilang ituloy. Ayaw magbayad. I was so stressed because I was shooting until 10 or 11 pm that night for another thing," BJ added.
BJ instructed her manager to cancel Denise's shoot. "Okay, ako na ang magbabayad. I paid for everything."
He decided to call Sarah Lahbati to arrange a shoot.
"Mag-shoot na lang tayo ng iba. May ibang mas deserve ng ganda dito. Sayang kasi ang ganda ng mga set... Sarah has been wanting to shoot pero never kami nagkaroon ng time to shoot together."
"She's going to split na lang with me 'yung costs," said BJ.
BJ expressed that he felt sorry for the people who joined him on this project.
"Nahihiya ako sa mga taong naabala. 'Yung bayad na 'yun sa kanila, pa-thank you na lang sa kanila kasi for the time and effort. Everyone wanted you to look good... Pero at least may nagawa pa rin kami."
At the end of BJ's story, he revealed that he never heard from Denise or her team again.
"After that, I never heard from her. No thank you, no sorry, no anything. No, what happened?"
