Derek Ramsay finally broke his silence on the fake plate controversy involving his supercar.

On Instagram Stories, the actor released a statement, clarifying that he does not drive any cars with fake plates.

"All my vehicles have proper plates," he noted.

He also urged the public to carefully read the statement issued by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to better understand the matter.

"I have not yet [received] any show cause order but I will cooperate and appear when requested," he assured.

He continued, "To the LTO, I apologize for what is going on. Driving with fake plates is wrong and should not be tolerated."

According to the LTO, Derek is the registered owner of the vehicle, which was being driven by a businessman. The LTO has seized the supercar and suspended the driver's licenses of Derek and the businessman for 90 days.

Derek became involved in the issue after the LTO said he had allegedly sold the vehicle to the businessman, but the buyer had yet to have the vehicle transferred under their name.

The actor has been asked to appear before the LTO on August 24 to explain his side.
