Dingdong Dantes is very much aware and follows the news about the current situation of the country. From the Middle East tension that caused fuel prices to skyrocket, which pushed Philippine inflation footprint to 7.2 percent last April, to the never-ending saga within the halls of the Senate and beyond, Dingdong and the rest of the Filipino people are understandably upset---some are even concerned about the nation's future.

During the media event organized by Esquire Philippines launching the multi-awarded Kapuso actor as their cover held on June 5, Dingdong was asked: “As a dad, as your kids are growing up What do you want to teach them about never losing hope in the world that they are growing up in?”

The star of the primetime series The Master Cutter answered, “It's really a crazy world that we have right now and one thing should always remain constant that is for us to be hoperful.”

He went on to stress that despite the negative situation, it is imperative that as a parent that he would still teach Zia and Sixto about the beauty of being hopeful.

“Otherwise kung pati yun mawala e, yari na tayong lahat.” Dong added, “Siguro ang may mas pinaka may tsansa pa, pag-asa pa sa hope na ito e 'yung ating mga anak. Yung susunod na generation and I think it's our role as parents to set them up for what is about to come.

“To set them up for this jungle out there 'di ba and we just try our best to really instill the values to them na hindi nila makakalimutan. Kasi, siyempre as parents gusto natin sila maging successful why not?

“When you say successful in all aspects--- as professionals, financial success mainly, or successful in sports or whatever that's okay. Pero more than being successful I think it's the trait of being just kind to people that we should always remind them of.”
