The family of Jobert Sucaldito finally disclosed details of the veteran entertainment columnist's death.

In a Facebook post, Jobert's son, Carlo Brian Sucaldito, shared an official statement regarding the veteran columnist's passing.

Carlo revealed that Jobert died following cardiac arrest, according to his doctors at the Philippine Heart Center.

"During the incident, he suddenly collapsed and fell, causing him to hit his head, which resulted in the bruise on his forehead and the cut on his lips," Carlo wrote.

Carlo also shared that Jobert had been rushed to Providence Hospital a few weeks earlier, where doctors recommended that he be admitted into the intensive care unit (ICU). However, Jobert chose to continue recovering at home, insisting, "Kaya ko!" and "Okay ako!"

"As his son, I respected his decision. With the help of Daddy Doc, Chaps Manansala, Maine Nieto, and everyone else who helped us during that time, we were able to bring him home," Carlo wrote.

"Thank you so much to all of you who showed your love, concern, prayers, and never stopped checking on him. We truly appreciate all of you."

Carlo recalled spending the last two weeks with Jobert on road trips, sharing meals, laughing together, and enjoying quality father-and-son time.

"Looking back, we noticed that his body was slowly getting weaker, but he never complained and never wanted anyone to worry. He always made us believe that he was okay, even when he probably wasn't.

"We're just grateful that we were able to spend those last moments with him doing the things that made him genuinely happy."

Carlo then announced Jobert's wake is being held at Loyola Memorial Chapels & Crematorium, Commonwealth. People who want to visit can do so anytime until August 6, 2026.

"On behalf of our family, thank you so much for all the love, prayers, messages, and support you've shown Nanay and our family during this difficult time. Rest easy, Tatay. I love you, and I'll miss you every single day."

Last weekend (August 2), 'Oras ng Opinyon Talakayan at Diskusyon (OOTD)' announced the passing of their host, Jobert Sucaldito.

Before the devastating news, co-host Chaps Manansala revealed that Jobert was taken to the hospital due to severe anxiety and lack of sleep.
