Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre star Kelvin Miranda shared a somber and emotional message on Instagram following the passing of his beloved father, Patricio.
In an Instagram story, Kelvin penned a message to his late father alongside an old photo of them together.
In his message, Kelvin admitted feeling as though he had yet to prove himself after defying his father's wish for him to finish his studies instead of pursuing acting.
He further shared that he kept many of his personal struggles a secret, wanting to project an image of strength and independence.
“Wala pa akong napapatunayan sa'yo magmula noong sinuway ko 'yung gusto mo na magtapos ako ng pag-aaral para sa pag-aartista ko,” Kelvin wrote.
“Marami akong laban na itinago sa'yo para isipin na kaya ko at malakas ako na kaya ko yung sarili ko,” he continued.
According to the Kapuso actor, the image shared on his Instagram story represents the sole milestone his father was able to witness, an occasion that brought him great happiness.
“Itong litrato na ito, ito lang ang kaisa-isang achievement ko na nasaksihan mo na alam kong masaya ka para sakin,” he said.
Furthermore, Kelvin noted that his decision to join the showbiz industry was driven by a desire to help his family, leading him to persevere in hopes of gaining his father's validation.
“Isang taon nakalipas pinili kong tahakin ang showbiz kahit na mahirap ito para sa akin dahil sa alam kung labag ito sa loob mo,” Kelvin expressed.
He continued by writing, “Pero nagsumikap ako para makita mo na patunayan ko sa'yo na kaya ko yung sarili ko. Hindi para kontrahin ka kung hindi para maging masaya ka sa bagay na alam kong makapag-bibigay ako ng kulay sa buhay natin.”
He also expressed that he would never forget the arguments he had with his father, describing them as lessons that taught him that his father's advice had been right all along.
Kelvin sadly admitted that the pain he feels now that his father is gone is overwhelming.
“Lahat ng pagtatalo natin ay hindi makakalimutan dahil doon ako natuto at napatunayan na lahat ng sinasabi mo sa 'kin noon ay totoo. Akala ko kaya ko na pero ngayon ko lang naramdaman na ganito pala kasakit kapag wala ka na,” he wrote.
Overwhelmed by the suddenness of the loss, the actor spoke candidly about the shock of his father's passing, describing it as a difficult and unexpected test of his emotional strength.
“Walang kasing sakit, hindi ka nagpaalam sakin sa amin. Lagi kang nambibigla 'yung hindi ako handa, palagi mo akong sinusubok sa bawat pagkakataon,” Kelvin expressed.
Kelvin also admitted that adjusting to a life without his father's guidance would be his greatest challenge, realizing now that the “opposition” he once faced was actually his father's way of ensuring he made the right choices.
“Sa pagkakataong ito, mukhang mahihirapan akong tanggapin na wala ka na, wala nang kokontra sa akin para sa mga gagawin kong desisyon at napatunayan ko yun na ginagawa mo yun para lang siguraduhin kong tama ang pasya na pipiliin ko,” he wrote.
He closed his tribute with a powerful declaration of love, acknowledging the deep, though complicated, bond they shared until the very end.
“Mahal na mahal kita hindi man natin ito nasasabi sa isa't isa pero alam kong alam mo na mahal kita at alam ko ron na mahal mo ako,” he said.
“Masakit, Daddy, lagi mo nalang ako sinasaktan pero kahit na ganon mahal na mahal kita at hindi kita makakalimutan,” he continued.
