Lea Salonga reveals she and husband Robert Chien have separated

Lea Salonga has revealed that she and her husband, Robert Chien, have been separated for some time. The acclaimed actress and singer disclosed in an interview with journalist MJ Marfori during the media call for Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular held in Parañaque City on Wednesday.
"Yes... So, yes, it's not a secret. I am... yeah, we've been separated for a while. And now he's happy and I am happy that he's happy," Lea added.
She went on to reflect on how parenthood has reshaped their priorities, especially amid their demanding schedules.
She said, “Kids are wonderful… We're both so busy but thankfully, the dad and dad's partner are the ones [like] pag may sipon ka, I will send you food. I will make sure that you're well,” she said.
Lea and Robert were married in Los Angeles in January 2004 and share a transgender son, Nic Chien.
Robert is an American businessman of Chinese-Japanese descent who established a business in Singapore before expanding his ventures to the Philippines in the early 2000s following their marriage.

Currently, Lea is part of Boublil and Schönberg's Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular with performances running from January 20 to March 1. The production is led by acclaimed West End and Broadway performers, including Filipino talents Rachelle Ann Go, Red Concepcion, and Emily Bautista.
Lea is playing the character of Madame Thénardier.
Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular will be staged at The Theatre at Solaire through March 1.
