Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 spokesperson Noel Ferrer spoke up against negative comments about the recently concluded MMFF 50 Gabi ng Parangal.

In a Facebook post yesterday, December 28, Ferrer defended MMFF jurors whose credibility was questioned because some fans did not like the result of the said awards night, which sparked discussion online.

In his post showing the members of the MMFF 2024 jury, Ferrer said, "YOU MAY AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH THEIR CHOICES … but the integrity of each and every member of the Jury since we took charge in 2016 , especially on this 50th Edition of the MMFF cannot be assailed. They have exhaustively deliberated and decided on the nominees and the winners from 9am-4:30pm yesterday … No leaks, definitely no cooking show … only the Jury Chair and the MMFF Executive Director knew the results, not even I or any member of the Execom. Rest assured, there was due process and the judgment was fair and sound AND FINAL!!!"

Ferrer also reposted a Facebook post from director Mark Meily, who shared his two cents to those who questioned the result of the MMFF 2024 awards.

It read, "Tip: Before we rant about our favorite films being snubbed during the MMFF Awards, why not watch the other films first and see why or why not they won before making accusations and conclusions?"

The MMFF 50 Gabi ng Parangal was held on December 27 at the Solaire Resort in Parañaque City.

GMA Pictures' Green Bones took home several major awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Dennis Trillo, and Best Supporting Actor for Ruru Madrid.

Zig Dulay, who received the Best Picture award for Green Bones, dedicated the award to his teammates, who worked hard to create his second award-winning film under GMA Picture and GMA Public Affairs. He also thanked the MMFF for recognizing Green Bones.
