The country's premiere broadcast giant and preferred home network of the biggest stars in the industry, GMA-7, has given rise to numerous big love teams in the past.
For example, many were excited when Marian Rivera was paired with Dingdong Dantes in the Filipino remake of the hit Mexican telenovela, MariMar, in 2007. This led to the two gaining thousands of fans, collectively known as DongYan.
They subsequently starred in several big soaps like Dyesebel, the Pinoy-adaptation of the Koreanovela series Endless Love and, My Beloved.
The rest is history, as they say. They ended up together and tied the knot in December 2014.
Another Kapuso love team spreading kilig every time they are together is former My Husband's Lover co-stars Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana, or TomCar to their ardent fans.
The two have been officially dating since 2015 and their relationship remains stronger up to this day. Who knows we might be hearing wedding bells soon for this lovely couple.
And who can forget the “phenomenal love team” that the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga created via its immensely popular segment, Kalyeserye.
Through the genius segment, millions of dabarkads here in the Philippines and abroad were hooked to the star-crossed team up of Alden Richards and Dubsmash Queen Maine Mendoza. The pairing was referred to in the Kalyeserye as AlDub.
