THE BOYZ to continue group activities with nine members under new label

K-pop boy group THE BOYZ is entering a new chapter after announcing that it will continue promoting as a nine-member act under a newly established label following its legal dispute with former agency One Hundred.
In a joint statement released on Thursday, August 6, members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric confirmed that they had reached an agreement to remain together as a group while pursuing individual careers through separate agencies.
"We have all reached an agreement to continue our group activities as nine, and we have finalized the group contract to do so," the members said. "We are currently preparing for our activities under a new label system."
They added that while each member will sign with agencies that best support their solo careers, the group will continue its activities through full cooperation.
"Our hearts have never changed from the very beginning, we all felt that the nine of us must stay together," they said. "Above all, we wanted to convey our intentions first to fans who have been waiting for and worrying about THE BOYZ's group activities."
The members also thanked their fandom, THE B, for their continued support.
"We sincerely thank our fans, THE B, for your unwavering love and support. We are working hard to repay you with great performances, so we ask for your continued support," they said.
According to South Korean media Soompi, the group's promotions will be handled by a newly established label, whose name has yet to be revealed. The arrangement will allow the members to continue group activities while managing their individual careers under different agencies.
The announcement comes months after the nine members, excluding New, filed to terminate their contracts with One Hundred, alleging they had not received settlement payments for activities dating back to 2025. In April, a South Korean court granted their request to suspend their exclusive contracts with the agency.
Meanwhile, member Younghoon has already found a new home for his solo activities after signing an exclusive contract with Namoo Actors.
The agency said it would fully support both Younghoon's acting career and his promotions with THE BOYZ.
"We will also actively support his activities with THE BOYZ, and we will do our utmost so that he can continue his precious interactions with his fans," Namoo Actors said.
Younghoon made his acting debut in the 2020 web drama Love Revolution and has since appeared in series including One the Woman and Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938.
THE BOYZ debuted in 2017 under IST Entertainment as a 12-member group before transferring to One Hundred in late 2024. The group rose to international popularity with songs such as "The Stealer," "Maverick," and "Thrill Ride," and gained wider recognition after winning Road to Kingdom in 2020 and competing in Kingdom: Legendary War the following year.
The group last visited the Philippines in August 2024 for its "Zeneration II" world tour.
