Xian Lim on his breakup with Kim Chiu: 'It's sad, very painful but life goes on'

Kapuso actor Xian Lim talked about his breakup with actress and It's Showtime host Kim Chiu.
On his interview with GMA Integrated News reporter Nelson Canlas, Xian opened up about his previous relationship with Kim. The two broke up in December 2023 after 12 years.
"It's sad, very painful but life goes on," Xian said, adding that he understood the pain their fans went through. He added, "On cam, it's just really hard, it's getting out of hand na, and that's just the painful part of it.
"Sabihin nila, nag-iingay si Xian because may pelikula, no. We really did explain from the bottom of our hearts kung ano talaga ang nangyari, hindi na namin kailangan pa isa-isahin kung sino ang nagkulang.
"It's just like any other relationship but I do not deserve the false accusations, the lies being spread."
Xian added that he didn't want to be defined by his 12-year relationship with Kim, especially that he's working hard on his craft.
"I work really hard, we are all working really hard. I'm working so hard and I don't want to be defined by what happened with my breakup with my previous relationship. I don't want to be defined by that, I don't want to be defined by what people are saying about me, these false headlines," he explained.
"Sige, ako na 'yung tirahin nila but not my family. Also just giving a little context, nadadamay na rin 'yung nanay ko, 'yung lola ko, they're getting personal messages, I'm getting death threats, my mom's getting death threats.
"Umaabot na sa ganun. That's the gravity of the situation I'm dealing with. My family does not deserve that, all that made-up lies."
In the end, Xian chose to be happy and assured that he and Kim ended on good terms. Xian already confirmed that he's been seeing Iris Lee.
"We ended in good terms, of course, mayroong iyakan, we ended in good terms. Of course, in time, kapag mabigyan kami ng pagkakataon na magtrabaho ulit, why not? I would like to keep my personal life, especially sa love, private because it's just so hard. For 11, 12 years, [my relationship] was an open book."
Xian Lim topbills GMA Pictures and Viva Films' latest movie Playtime alongside Sanya Lopez, Coleen Garcia, and Faye Lorenzo. Directed by Mark Reyes, Playtime will be shown in cinemas nationwide on June 12.
