April Noora and Jed Corgulla wedding during quarantine

April Noora and Jed Corgulla went to church to consult a priest about their postponed wedding due to the enhanced community quarantine, but the couple didn't know they were about to tie knot then and there, in their shirts and jeans.

April Noora and Jed Corgulla went to Church to consult the priest about their postponed wedding due to the community quarantine brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The couple didn't know they were about to tie knot then and there, in their shirts and jeans.

April and Jed, who spent their recent years in New Zealand, came home to the Philippines for their dream wedding. They were supposed to wed on March 27 but the couple had to postpone it following the declaration of a community quarantine due to COVID-19.

They took a trip to the church, sought the advice of a priest, and eventually realized that they could push through and receive the Sacrament of Matrimony during their visit.

The bride-to-be narrated on her Facebook account: “Everything was put on hold, but never our love for each other.

"Eventually with such heavy hearts, we cancelled our wedding.

"On March 14, 2020 we went to the church to ask for advice for our next steps. It was just after the guests of the newlyweds before us when the parish priest asked us about what we really wanted to do. To get married right on that spot was our answer, and we did.

"The dream was a big ceremony surrounded by our loving friends and family, me in the prettiest white dress and Jed in the finest suit. But our union happened with just the two of us, wearing plain shirts and jeans.

April and Jed didn't get to experience the wedding of their dreams but they didn't regret exchanging vows at that instant.

She continued, “There was indeed a great difference, but when you are with the right person, what situation you are in would never matter.

"Despite the hindrances, God made it possible for us to become one and we are truly grateful for that. We are indebted to Father Jovi Nepomuceno and the office staff of the Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (PIHM).

“We are also thankful for our families, especially to our parents who have given their blessings and overwhelming support to the both of us. To our friends, wedding suppliers and coordinators, thank you for being with us on this journey.”

The now Mrs. Cargullo concluded her post with a sentimental note about their #LoveInTheTimeOfCorona.

April said, “Most would think that it was just bad timing, but for us it was the most perfect thing that happened. Nothing fancy, just love.”
