Ado hibana world tour

The Japanese pop sensation held her first concert in the Philippines last May 8.

Japanese pop sensation Ado made her highly anticipated Philippine concert debut on May 8, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. This performance was part of her "Hibana World Tour," powered by Crunchyroll, marking her second global tour following the success of her first world tour in 2024, “Wish.” The Manila show was the fourth stop on the tour's Asia leg, following performances in Saitama and Bangkok.

Ado opened up her highly-anticipated show with her rebellious anthem “Usseewa,” hyping up the packed arena.

Known for her powerful vocals and enigmatic stage presence, Ado delivered an electrifying performance featuring hits like “Odo,” "Backlight," "Lucky Bruto," "Show,""Stay Gold," "Aishite Aishite Aishite," and more, including “New Genesis” from One Piece Film: Red. The concert showcased a blend of high-energy music and immersive visuals, staying true to her signature style of maintaining anonymity while captivating audiences.

Since Ado keeps her personal identity private, she stayed true to her style and performed in a large, backlit cube designed to maintain anonymity while delivering an eye-catching experience. Its semi-transparent walls and dynamic lighting create a silhouette effect, allowing the audience to witness her expressive movements without revealing her identity. This setup not only preserves her faceless persona but also adds a layer of theatricality to her performances.

During the concert, the box's lighting shifted to match the mood and rhythm of each song. For high-energy tracks like “Usseewa” and “Odo,” it pulsed with bold reds and blues, turning up the intensity and excitement. When the music slowed down, the lights softened too--casting a gentle, almost dreamlike glow that fit the emotion of the moment perfectly.

This unique stage setup has become a signature part of Ado's live shows--from Los Angeles to Tokyo--where the lighting and visuals inside the Ado Box help bring each song's story to life. Her Manila concert was a big moment, too. Not only was it her first time performing live in the Philippines, but it also marked another step in her growing impact on the global J-pop scene.

In contrast to Ado's anonymity, her band performed onstage visible to the crowd, which enhanced the live experience and connected the audience with the music. Ado's concealed presence and her band's visibility adds a dimension to her performances, emphasizing her focus on the music itself rather than personal image. Ado introduced her band, composed of Ryunsuke Morita on drums, Takuma Kaneko on bass, Hajime Okada on keyboard, and Takafumi "CO-K" Koukei on drums.

Ado described “Hibana” (which means “spark" in Japanese) as a symbol of her artistic evolution. She stated in an interview with GMANetwork.com, "Since my last world tour “Wish,” as an artist Ado who has grown since then, I want to spark and light up a bigger fire of possibilities and create an opportunity for people around the world to get to know more about the beauties of Japan, Japanese culture and Japanese music.

She continued, "I want to spark a fire onto that future and the possibilities. Starting a revolution might be too ambitious because I'm not a revolutionist. But if my Hibana (spark) becomes bigger and bigger for a better future and possibilities, that would be amazing. So as my next step, I named the tour “Hibana” in Japanese."

The "Hibana World Tour" spans over 30 cities worldwide, including stops in Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.
