Ado, the elusive Japanese pop sensation, has captivated audiences worldwide with her powerful vocals and enigmatic persona. Emerging from the online music scene, she has become a symbol of youthful defiance and artistic innovation.
She began her musical journey by covering songs on platforms like Niconico without revealing her face. Her breakthrough came in 2020 with the release of "Usseewa," a rebellious anthem that resonated with Japan's Gen Z, challenging societal norms and expectations. The song's success catapulted her to fame, amassing millions of streams and establishing her as a voice for the disenchanted youth.
Ado's music blends J-pop with elements of rock and Vocaloid influences, characterized by her dynamic vocal range and emotive delivery. She often collaborates with various producers, bringing diverse sounds to her discography. Notably, she provided the singing voice for the character Uta in the 2022 anime film One Piece Film: Red, with the theme song "New Genesis" topping charts globally.
In 2025, Ado embarked on her second global tour, the "Hibana World Tour," following the success of her 2024 "Wish" tour. Spanning 34 shows across Asia, Europe, North America, and Latin America, the tour is expected to draw over 500,000 attendees. Ado described the tour's theme as igniting change and sparking a revolution through music.
Ado shares her inspiration for "Hibana." "Out of many options, I originally thought about naming the tour 'Spark.' Spark in Japanese is 'Hibana' and the word 'spark' is an option used in context like 'spark a revolution' or start a fire.
"Since my last world tour 'Wish,' as an artist Ado who has grown since then, I want to spark and light up a bigger fire of possibilities and create an opportunity for people around the world to get to know more about the beauties of Japan, Japanese culture and Japanese music."
Ado continued, "I want to spark a fire onto that future and the possibilities. Starting a revolution might be too ambitious because I'm not a revolutionist. But if my Hibana (spark) becomes bigger and bigger for a better future and possibilities, that would be amazing. So as my next step, I named the tour Hibana in Japanese."
The tour commenced on April 26, 2025 at Saitama Super Arena in Japan and includes a performance in Manila on May 8, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Fans can anticipate a unique concert experience, as Ado maintains her anonymity by performing behind a silhouette, focusing attention solely on her music and stage presence.
World Tour 2025 "Hibana" is dubbed by Universal Music Japan as "one of the largest world tours in history by a Japanese artist" spanning across Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, England, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile.
