Aiai Delas Alas

Aiai Delas Alas opens up about her healing journey after her split from ex-husband saying she's slowly finding peace and positivity in life.

Comedian and actress AiAi Delas Alas revealed that she decided to revoke the green card petition of her ex-husband, Gerald Sibayan, following their separation. In an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda earlier this week, the Kapuso star explained that doing so was part of her process of moving on from their past relationship.

A green card, officially called a Permanent Resident Card, grants an individual the legal right to live and work permanently in the United States. It also serves as a pathway to applying for U.S. citizenship after meeting the required years of residency.

The comedienne clarified that her decision wasn't made out of impulse, admitting that she initially had no plans of doing it.

Aiai previously mentioned that she had no plans to revoke her petition for her ex-husband's green card despite their separation. However, after some reflection, she eventually decided to withdraw it.

Aiai said, Nung una, ayoko talagang gawin 'yun.

In the interview, Aiai revealed that Gerald's green card was revoked around the same time she filed for divorce. While the final results of the divorce have yet to be released, the comedian confirmed that her ex-husband is no longer under her residency petition.

When asked if she has fully moved on from her past relationship, Aiai admitted that she's still in the process of healing, though she occasionally still gets emotional about it.

She also shared that what caught her off guard was how sudden the breakup happened.

Still, Aiai said she has now found peace within herself and is embracing a more positive outlook on life.

“Ako ngayon ay at peace. Sabi ko nga, meron akong legacy of peace. Sabi nga pain was my teacher and healing is my revolution,” she ended.
