Aicelle Santos in Himala Isang Musikal

Aicelle Santos relates her learnings from 'Miss Saigon,' which she applies in her current show 'Himala: Isang Musikal.'

Despite her stint in Miss Saigon, Kapuso star Aicelle Santos admitted that she still feel pressured in Himala: Isang Musikal.

Aicelle reprises her role as Elsa in Himala: Isang Musikal, which is now on its second staging.

During the first staging of the play, Aicelle won the Outstanding Female Lead Performance in a Musical in the 11th Gawad Buhay Awards, the country's version of the prestigious Tony Awards.

"Oo nakaka-pressure pero hindi naman dapat isipin 'yun. Kumbaga, cherry on top siya, oo, pero nandoon pa rin tayo sa cake," Aicelle told GMANetwork.com after the press preview of 'Himala: Isang Musikal' last September 19.

She added, "Just perform because you have a story to tell and you've given talent that's meant to be shared. Hindi mo na dapat isipin 'yung mga ganun."

After the first staging of 'Himala: Isang Musikal' last year, Aicelle went to London to portray the role of Gigi Van Tranh in the musical Miss Saigon and she revealed what she learned from the award-winning play.

"Stamina kasi doon eight shows a week ka," Aicelle revealed.

"Titimplahin mo 'yung bawat show mo so you can still perform the next day, and then the day after, tas next day, two shows ulit. So yeah, it taught me that.

"[And] siguro 'yung restraint, kasi may tendency ka when you're acting, buga ka nang buga, buga nang buga, you can still act and give it your all na hindi mo binubuga."

Himala: Isang Musikal will run in Power Mac Center Spotlight Theater in Circuit Makati until October 20.

Tickets are available in Ticketworld.
