
Aicelle Santos's premiere performance as Elsa for the re-staging of “Himala: Isang Musikal” took place last Thursday, September 19 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Theater, Circuit Makati.
There was not an empty seat in the house, with writer Ricky Lee and Vincent de Jesus in attendance together with other celebrities, singers, and industry performers alike to view the much-anticipated re-run of the musical.
Her exquisite performance earned a standing ovation.
Even multi-awarded Pinay performer Lea Salonga confessed shedding tears as she watched the Kapuso actress on stage.
She said, “Her performance is incredible and every accolade she has received thus far is well-deserved.
“She is immensely talented and so into the character and everything that she does you absolutely believe.”

Although Aicelle looked effortless while performing to the crowd, the 34-year-old singer admitted feeling challenged when performing the said role.
“This is emotionally tiring.
“Ito, pagod na pagod 'yung puso't isip mo. And I'm sure naramdaman rin ninyo habang pinapanood. Hahaha!” she shared.

“Himala: Isang Musikal” is based on the 1982 film of the same title starring Superstar Nora Aunor.
The first run of the production earned Aicelle the Outstanding Female Lead Performance in a Musical in the 11th Gawad Buhay Awards, the Philippine version of the prestigious Tony Awards.
