Eva Darren continuously receives support and love after the alleged disrespectful incident during the 72nd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards last Sunday (May 26).

Aside from fans, fellow actors and various organizations supported the veteran actress. These include the collective group of Filipino actors, AktorPH, which released a statement to "extend its warmest support and solidarity to Ms. Eva Darren."

The group expressed their dismay at FAMAS's treatment of the actress, emphasizing that such events should serve as celebrations, uniting and honoring the talents and artistry of individuals within the industry.

"It is ironic that the event last Sunday, which was supposed to honor the iconic pillars of the country, was marred by an unfortunate incident that happened to one of our respected and beloved peers during a celebration with industry members at one of the oldest award-giving bodies.We are deeply saddened by the seeming lapse in the management of the program," AktorPH expressed.

AktorPH also stressed, "While acknowledging shortcomings in execution, our aim is to underscore the broader culture surrounding award ceremonies. We aspire to revive the genuine essence of these events and bring back the glory of these gatherings, by fostering intimate celebrations that embrace every individual without fear of exclusion and discrimination.”

The statement concluded with a firm declaration, “Now, more than ever, it is crucial to safeguard and honor the Filipino film industry, restoring both respect and authenticity to its events. AKTOR, the League of Filipino Actors, extends its warmest support and solidarity to Ms. Eva Darren."

Eva Darren was initially invited to present at the FAMAS Awards, along with fellow actor Tirso Cruz III, but she was unexpectedly replaced. The said incident was related by his son, Fernando de la Peña, in a Facebook post.

The FAMAS then issued statement of apology, where part of it read, "She was part of the program in last night's Awards Night and was supposed to present Special Citations with Mr. Tirso Cruz III. But considering that we were running a live show, and due to myriads of people present in last night's festivities, the production team was not able to locate Ms. Darren. This was indeed a setback in the live show and a negligence on the part of the team."

Eva Darren and her family accepted the apology of FAMAS.
