Alden Richards is set to portray Dr. Jose Rizal in the upcoming film 'Liwanag at Dilim: Heneral Emilio Jacinto.'
Alden Richards will be taking on another historical role.
In a Facebook post, 'Pinoy Pop Superstar Season 2' Grand Champion and theater actor Gerald Santos announced that the Asia's Multimedia Star will portray Dr. Jose Rizal in his upcoming film 'LIWANAG AT DILIM: Heneral Emilio Jacinto.'
This marks Alden's return to the role after previously winning the Best Actor award for his acclaimed performance as the national hero in GMA's 2014 series 'Ilustrado'.
“So happy to announce that Alden Richards is part of my movie LIWANAG AT DILIM: Heneral Emilio Jacinto as Dr.Jose Rizal!” Gerald wrote in the caption.
“Thank you bro for being part of this monumental film!” he added.
Currently, Alden Richards stars in the romantic comedy series 'Love, Siargao/ alongside Nadine Lustre.
Alden Richards will also headline the upcoming GMA medical drama series Code Grey.
