Tropical Storm Bertha forms off the Alabama coast in US

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration hurricane hunters found that a tropical depression off the coast of Alabama has formed into Tropical Storm Bertha, the US National Hurricane Center said on Monday.

The storm was located about 190 miles (310 km) southeast of Mobile, Alabama, producing maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 km/h) with some additional strengthening expected over the next day or so. —Reuters
