Andre on his Kapuso comeback: "Just being back here po sa GMA means a lot."
Actor and TV host Andre Paras is ready to write a new chapter as he returns home to his Kapuso family, after a year of pursuing a basketball career in the Philippine Basketball Association.
In previous reports, Andre sent a letter to inform Blackwater Bossing owner Dioceldo Sy that he would be retiring from the PBA.
Now, the son of PBA legend Benjie Paras is eager to restart his showbiz career. He will be part of the grand anniversary special of the award-winning magical anthology on TV Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.
In his interview with GMANetwork.com, Andre said that he's glad that he was able to fulfill his dream of playing basketball professionally.
He noted, “Everyone's dream na makapag-basketball in our country, kasi we all know that PBA is one of the best leagues right now in the Philippines or Asia if I'm not mistaken.”
“Just being able to cross that out sa bucket list ko, well not naman bucket list, it's more of dream ko talaga ever since bata ako na, nung tinatanong ako sa mga career day na, 'What do you want to be when you grow up?'”
“Instantly [sasabihin ko], basketball player. Gusto ko maging parang tatay ko sa PBA.”
Andre continued, “And naabot ko, naenjoy ko. I've learned a lot.”
The former Game of the Gens host is also looking into studying film, too.
He explained, “When I decided to return back home to GMA. I felt like I do enjoy entertaining people, I do enjoy learning. And dream ko rin talaga maging isang film director, so I still want to study film, but obviously you can have the greatest technology, the diploma, but you still need to have experience and just being able to learn from the best actors, actresses, directors [and] writers on set it's really a huge learning for me.
“So just being back here po sa GMA means a lot, dahil 'yun nga po makakapag-entertain po ako uli, to learn as well [and] make my craft better as an actor.”
