A week after Angel Locsin and Neil Arce announced that they have already tied the knot, the couple shared videos of their civil wedding ceremony and their engagement in their latest vlog.

Angel and Neil first publicly announced their civil wedding on August 7. However, in their vlog, it was revealed that they married on the same day that Pinay weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the Philippines' first-ever gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, which was on July 26.

Neil narrated what transpired right before they said their “I Dos” in front of Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano and a few of their loved ones.

“Siguro ang perfect description ng pagka-civil nung wedding, kami lang siguro ang bride and groom na pumila sa elevator bago ikasal.

“May pila 'yung elevator un. Siyempre apat-apat lang. Pandemic ngayon eh.

“Dala-dala niya 'yung bouquet niya. Pumipila kami ng elevator hanggang turn na naming umakyat.”

Meanwhile, Angel had a concise description of their civil wedding union.

“Pinaka-perfect siguro na description ng wedding naming is simple pero rock. (Giggles)”

In the same vlog, the couple revealed that they went to their civil wedding ceremony unprepared, meaning they haven't written their vows beforehand and they didn't bring wedding rings, either.

Nevertheless, the wedding pushed through with Mayor Lino Cayetano writing their vows for them and Angel using a “fake” engagement ring while Neil borrowed his son's ring.

The video also showed Angel's 94-year-old father Angelo Colmenares giving the newlyweds his well wishes.

“Congratulations! I wish you happiness throughout your lives. But this could only be achieved if you took good care of each other, day by day,” Angel's father said. “I'm now 94 years old and I wish Neil and Angel will soon give me grandchild.”

Neil also shared what happened days before he proposed to Angel on June 29, 2019.

“Actually, 2019, a week before Father's Day, right after ko bilhin 'yung ring, pumunta agad ako sa daddy niya.

“Sabi ko, 'Daddy, magpo-propose ako.' 'O, ano'ng proposal mo?' So, akala niya may business proposal ako.

“Tapos sabi ni Ate Ella, 'Daddy magpapakasal sila.' 'Ay, good. Good. Good.' Gumanon naman. So, sobrang nawala 'yung burden sa shoulders ko na siyempre 'good' ang sinabi ng daddy niya.

“Tapos nung tinanong niya ko kailan ako magpo-propose, sabi ko, 'Kasi pupunta si Angel sa Belgium. Baka after na.' Sabi ng daddy niya, 'Hindi. Gawin mo na bago lumipad.'”

The couple then showed the exact moment Neil proposed to Angel, where she undoubtedly looked surprised.
