Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway has addressed facelift rumors, says hairstyle tricks created her 'snatched' look.

Hollywood star Anne Hathaway clarified that her youthful appearance was the result of clever styling techniques and not cosmetic surgery.

In a recent interview with Elle, the Oscar-winning actress opened up about the nonstop speculation surrounding her appearance after netizens began accusing her of secretly undergoing a facelift. According to Anne, the rumors became impossible to ignore as discussions online continued to grow louder.

Anne said many people quickly assumed she had undergone cosmetic procedures, but she wanted to be transparent about what really happened. She stressed that people often become too confident in treating assumptions as facts, even when they may not be true. The actress added that while she has not ruled out cosmetic enhancements in the future, her current look was simply achieved with “two braids.”

The buzz intensified after the actress shared a behind-the-scenes video from the Academy Awards in March. In the clip, hairstylist Orlando Pita demonstrated how tightly pinned braids hidden near Hathaway's temples created a temporary lifting effect on her face. Hathaway later explained that the simple hairstyle trick made her appear more refreshed during a red-carpet appearance with Anna Wintour.

"The speculation has gotten so loud that you do feel the need to just get your truth out there," Anne told Elle.

She added, "And I'll probably always wonder, should I have posted that or not?"

Anne clarified, "These are huge medical decisions that people are presuming. I wanted to show that like... no, I didn't make a huge medical decision. It's just two braids."

The actress is currently promoting projects including The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, and Mother Mary. She also reflected on embracing her 40s, sharing that she feels more comfortable and fulfilled with age. She admitted that her younger years were filled with fear and self-criticism, but growing older helped her become kinder to herself.

For Anne, beauty now means authenticity more than perfection. The actress said she has learned to appreciate truth and confidence over chasing impossible standards, proving that aging does not have to be something people fear.
