Anton Vinzon

After his remarkable role in 'Mga Batang Riles' and well-loved stint in Pinoy Big Brother, Sparkle star Anton Vinzon marks his first solo lead project in 'Kamao.'

Premiering on GMA Afternoon Prime this May 25, Kamao mirrors the story of every Filipino who remains strong, resilient, and determined to show up for their family despite being punched by life's challenges.

GMA's first-ever sports drama boasts a powerhouse cast bannered by Anton, together with some of the country's seasoned stars in film and television: Amy Austria, Roi Vinzon, Wendell Ramos, Neil Ryan Sese, and Katrina Halili.

Bringing a fresh take on the series are promising young dramatic stars and trending social media personalities Bruce Roeland, Therese Malvar, Chanty Videla, Tito Abdul and Tito Marsy, Matt Lozano, Euwenn Mikaell.

Makmak (Anton) is an amateur boxer who dreams of becoming a champion. But his toughest battles happen outside the ring. He gets caught up in the lies and controversies surrounding his former boxing champ father and endures the unbending rules of his grandfather.

In the pursuit of the championship belt, Makmak learns that true victory is not measured by awards and accolades, but by being triumphant over the battles in life.

Under the direction of L.A. Madridejos and Richard Arellano, with Kevin de Vela as the associate director, Kamao highlights that true winning is discovering oneself in a deeper manner and finding love, peace, and acceptance within the family.

The series also cements Anton's wide range across drama, comedy, romance, and intense action, making him worthy of headlining a GMA Afternoon Prime series.

Catch Kamao, Mondays to Fridays at 3:20 p.m. on GMA-7 and Kapuso Stream. Global Pinoys can also watch the program via GMA Pinoy TV.
