Kailan lang ay nag-collaborate at naglabas ng kanta ang dating Black Eyed Peas member na si Apl.de.Ap at K-Pop star na si Sandara Park sa isang kantang pinamagatang “2Proud.” Ayon sa Fil-Am singer, ang kantang sinulat niya ay hango sa past long-distance relationship na na-experience niya.

“This is one of those songs that I wrote when I was having a hard time with a long-distance relationship. You know, a lot of uncertainty, a lot of questions, where is it going,” sabi ni Apl sa interview niya kay Aubrey Carampel para sa “Chika Minute” ng 24 Oras.

Ayon kay Apl, “very island-ish” ang tema ng kanta kaya naman masaya siya na nakunan nila ang music video sa Boracay dahil “it matched the feeling of the song. It's a cool, chill, summer vibe.”

Tungkol naman kay Sandara, isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit niya gustong maka-collaborate ang K-Pop star dahil mahal nito umano ang Pilipinas at dahil lagi itong nasa bansa.

“I think that's one of the connections as well, seeing her here. And not like just working here, but she really likes it here,” sabi niya.

Unang nakilala ni Apl si Sandara nang maka-collaborate naman nito ang kabanda niyang si Will.i.am. Simula noon, ayon sa kaniya, ay naging malapit at magkakaibigan na sila ng K-Pop star at ng grupo nitong 2NE1.

Ngunit paano nga ba inalok ni Apl ng collaboration si Sandara? “I always saw Sandara here in the Philippines, and like 'Yo, one day we should just collaborate,'” pahayag niya.

“I sent her the song, see if she likes it, and she wanted to try something new and she said yes. She's really open-minded about the style of the music, I mean comparing to the world where she comes from.”

Samantala, bukod kay Sandara ay makikipag-collaborate din si Apl sa isang Pinoy artist.

“I can't say the name yet, but yes, definitely. I want it to be a surprise,” aniya niya.
