Arashi reads Father

Arashi find themselves in unfamiliar territory with the fifth story from their ongoing storybook read-aloud series.

Top Japanese idol group Arashi have once again gathered via teleconferencing to continue their series Arashi Picturebook Storytime where they read aloud stories to entertain both kids and adults.

For the fifth edition of the series, the members will read "Father," a fable from Sumatra.

As the story is originally from Indonesia, only Jun Matsumoto was familiar with the story.

"A really warm-hearted tale. A story of a father's love. I guess that explains why the title is just 'Father,'" he says.

Masaki Aiba got to be the narrator this time, a role he dreads. Jun Matsumoto will play the Father, while Sho Sakurai will play The Boy. Satoshi Ohno will be the demon Mangaran Green Beku and Kazunari Ninomiya will be the King.

Arashi has previously read "The Three Little Pigs," "The Adventures of Son Goku," "Jack and the Beanstalk" and "Little Red Riding Hood" for the series.
