Former child star Awra Briguela had a harrowing experience after needing immediate hospital care due to severe stomach pain and persistent vomiting.
In a series of posts via Instagram Story, she shared a photo of herself in the emergency room and recounted what happened.
According to Awra, she was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis and was also dehydrated.
According to myclevelandclinic.org, gastroenteritis is an inflammation that spreads from the stomach to the intestines, causing pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. When it feels like it's “coming out both ends,” it usually means a virus, bacteria, or chemical has been ingested.
Looking back, Awra said the stomach pain was intense. She shared:
“After doing lab tests and everything, the final diagnosis is acute gastroenteritis with mild to moderate dehydration—probably from not eating properly these past few days (puro black Americano lang) and kulang sa water.”

Right now, Awra is focused on recovering and is thankful that all her test results are “normal.”
“I almost got confined because I kept asking for pain relievers, and ilang oras na hindi pa rin nawawala 'yung sakit ng tiyan ko. But thankfully, normal naman lahat ng results.
“I'm okay now—just need to rest, fix my eating habits, and take my meds.”
