Kapuso actress Ayra Mariano is among the cast of GMA Public Affairs' newest romance drama series Heartful Café which is top-billed by Asia's Pop Superstar Julie Anne San Jose and Kapuso hunk David Licauco.

Ayra plays the role of Mars, the cute and bubbly cashier of Heartful Café.

“Ako dito si Mars, 'yun ang aking pangalan. Ako ay ang loyal cashier ng Heartful Café at devoted friend ako dito ni Ms. Heart Fulgencio played by Ms. Julie Anne San Jose.

“Ako sobrang gulo ko dito as 'yung character ko kasi medyo magkaiba talaga kami ng ugali ni Mars. Sobrang ingay niya. Sobrang energetic parang nakatatlong espresso shot siya ganon,” she related in GMA Artist Center's online show In the Limelight.

Aside from the feel-good romance between the lead cast, the series will also introduce a new love team through Ayra and new Kapuso actor Victor Anastacio.

Victor portrays the role of Roco, the male counterpart of Mars in the series.

“Ang kakulitin niya rito ay si Roco, lagi silang may mga banter na bangayan pero abangan n'yo sa huli kung anong mangyayari sa kanilang mga characters sa kanilang mga buhay kung mag-aaway ba sila forever.

“Mahilig kasing mag-joke 'tong si Mars, e. Mahilig siyang magpatawa. Minsan kahit hindi na siya nagpapatawa nakakatawa na lang din siya. Para din siyang si Roco. Counterpart siya ng character ni Roco,” she added.

Since Mars's character, a bubbly, energetic, and full of fun lady, is her opposite, Ayra said she has undergone acting workshops for the role.

“For my character, nag-script reading kami so medyo na-familiarize na rin ako dun sa character ko tapos meron din kaming acting coach. Nagkaroon kami ng insights sa characters namin papaano mas magiging maharot na hindi nakakainis si Mars, papaano ide-deliver 'yung lines na ganito.

“Kilig 'tong si Mars pero meron siyang mga binabanggit na desisyon din, mga opinyon na nagma-matter din naman.

“Comedic timing, medyo inaral ko rin ng very very light,” she added.

The series follows the story of an online romance novelist and café owner Heart Fulgencio online romance novelist and a coffee enthusiast who owns a cozy cafe called The Heartful Cafe.

Heartful Café made its world premiere on Monday, April 26.
