Jak Roberto and Barbie Forteza

Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto went on a marathon of MMFF 2023 entries, and here is what they have to say about them.

Celebrity couple and Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto did not forget to join the fun of the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival as they went on a two-day marathon of MMFF films.

They shared on their Instagram accounts a mini-vlog of them enjoying the cinemas and filming their reactions after every movie.

Barbie and Jak, collectively known as JakBie, first watched Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes' Rewind, and they were one of the many cinema-goers who did not escape the #RewindEffect.

At the end of the movie, they were seen crying and drying their tears. Barbie also shared her short but sweet comment saying, “It's the perfect material for Dongyan's comeback.”

After watching DongYan's comeback movie, Barbie and Jak went on another crying session when they watched Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards' Family of Two (A Mother and Son Story).

Jak Roberto even joked, “Pagod na pagod na akong umiyak.”

Meanwhile, Pepe Diokno's historical film GomBurZa received a certified thumbs up from the couple. The film follows the lives of three Filipino priests who were executed by Spanish colonial authorities when they fought for equal rights of priests and secularization in the Philippines.

Barbie also said on her post, “Maganda lahat. Mahusay lahat. Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino.”

A few days after their first marathon, JakBie went to the cinemas once again to watch Eugene Domingo and Pokwang's comedy film Becky & Badette. Their huge smiles were evident in the mini-vlog that proved their enjoyment of the film.

They sent their biggest congratulations for the film, and Eugene Domingo warmly replied, Thank youuu love you mga bibi!!!”

To end their MMFF marathon, JakBie watched Roderick Cabrido's Mallari. Barbie also mentioned and congratulated the director for a job well done.

She also encouraged Filipinos to go to their local cinemas and watch the annual Metro Manila Film Festival entries.

Due to high demand, the Metro Manila Film Festival is extended until January 19. It will still feature all movies in the lineup, including GMA Picture's Firefly. The fantasy film also bagged three awards during the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Child Performer for Euwenn Mikaell.
