As actor Baron Geisler revealed that the roles he's been doing lately have affected his marriage so bad prompting his wife Jamie Marie Evangelista to ask for an annulment.

In a Facebook post, the actor thanked his followers who congratulated him for earning his college degree. In the same post, Baron opened up about his issues--his alcohol addiction and the roles he's portraying in movies under Viva Films.

He said, “Guys, I appreciate your congratulatory messages but I really did not work that hard to earn a degree in Theology, I take it as a blessing. I am still a work in progress. I'm still in treatment for my alcohol addiction, hoping that I will get better roles in the future,” he said.

Since signing up with Viva Artists Agency in 2020, Baron has done a number of projects with the film giant including Tililing (2021) and Barumbadings (2021), which got widespread concern for their controversial stories.

As Baron strengthens his faith, his renewed self and the characters he plays inevitably clash. In turn, he hopes his management eventually produces more socially sensitive films over highly suggestive contents usually being released.

“Hopefully, Vivamax will create movies that promote good family values and not just soft porn content for the reason that sex sells. Invest on acting workshops and character development. It is contradictory to my beliefs as a Christian and my image as a transformed family man,” he added.

Moreover, he admitted that his exposure to such roles and the effect it has on his mentality prompted his wife Jamie to seek nullity of their marriage.

“I am not proud of it and it's taking a toll on my marri[a]ge, from my wife who is demanding for an annulment. God bless us all!” he ended.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Baron related that he's currently staying in Bulacan, where he undergoes 12-step program.

"I'm working on myself," he said after describing his daily routine.

It is not the first time though that marital issues about the two came out. Just recently, a video of them fighting went viral, where Jamie was seen throwing a water jug at the actor.

In Ogie Diaz's YouTube vlog, Jamie left a message explaining the reason that led to their fight. According to her, Baron was supposed to fly to Manila for work but missed his flight because he was drunk. She also said that she's been very forgiving through the years and her husband's supposed relapses brought her to breaking point.
