
Kapuso star Bea Alonzo puts her celebrity friend and award-winning host Luis Manzano to a lie detector test for the 21st episode of her YouTube series, #ByBea Lie Detector Challenge Series, where they talk about career, politics, marriage life, and many more.
Luis Manzano is one of the most prominent TV hosts and personalities in the Philippines, and one of the many topics that Bea and Luis talked about was his acting and hosting career, which he takes pride in.
When asked about the future of hosting and the possibility of younger TV hosts shadowing him, Luis shared that he is not scared to be replaced by them, rather, takes it as a challenge to pass his learnings and ethics as a host.
“I think it's an obligation for us na, whether [it is] isang lesson lang or dalawa, we have to [teach them],” Luis explained.
Bea also discussed with Luis his acting career in TV and film, which Luis revealed to have been nourished by his mother and award-winning actress, Vilma Santos.
Luis shared how Vilma critiqued him and his crying scene on one of his TV shows where his mother told him, “Ang pangit mong [Luis] umiyak”.
The Kapuso actress reacted and said, “Oh, my God, nanggaling sa isang ate V!”
Despite his challenges and struggles, Luis emphasized that he enjoys hosting and the entirety of his career, and he will not turn his back on the industry unless there is something bigger waiting for him that could help him sustain the life of his family.
However, he is open to the idea of joining politics having watched his mother who was a member of the House of Representatives, his father Edu Manzano who was a former vice mayor of Makati, and Uncle Ralph Recto who is a known personality in Philippine politics.

“Nakita ko [na] we all have an obligation to serve,” Luis said, “You can serve through entertainment, you can serve through politics, [and] you can serve through charity.”
Aside from career and politics, Bea and Luis also tackled discussions on cancel culture, insecurities, marriage life, and friendship, which is available on Bea Alonzo's YouTube channel.
