Through social media, actors can get to know their co-stars before they actually meet in person.

Beauty Gonzalez and Kelvin Miranda, for instance, turn to social media upon learning that they would be working with each other in the previous GMA Afternoon Prime series Stories From the Heart: Loving Miss Bridgette.

“Sinearch ko siya sa Instagram, na hindi ko alam na ganun din pala yung ginawa niya sa akin,” Kelvin recalled during the media conference of their upcoming movie After All held reently.

Beauty then took the mic from Kelvin to share a funny incident.

She said laughing, “Nahihiya ako kasi hindi ako marunong mag-search, na-like ko yung picture! My God! Nakikita pala nila kapag nala-like yun! Pinawisan ako!”

Kelvin continued, “So yun, na-intimidate ako. In-explore ko rin si Beauty, hanggang sa unang pagkikita namin, na-starstruck din ako. Sabi ko, 'Ah, okay, siya pala si Beauty. Talagang bagay yung pangalan niya. Hindi ko pa alam kung paano siya i-approach, hanggang sa nagkasundo kami about artworks.”

The 25-year-old actor also admitted to being intimidated by Beauty during their first meeting.

Kelvin related, “Noong unang-una naming nagkita, sobrang intimidated ako kasi Beauty Gonzalez yun, e. Sa totoo lang, yung mga napatunayan niya sa industriya, kumbaga, maganda yung mga naging trabaho niya, e.”

For her part, Beauty said Kelvin remains like a baby boy to her.

She explained, “Baby boy ang tawag ko sa kanya! He's my baby boy pa rin. It's nice to know someone who is also open and collaborative. Big help. Noong una, parang baby talaga siya, e, masarap alagaan.”

First love team

Beauty has had different on-screen partners in her previous projects. However, it is Kelvin whom she considers as her first love team partner.

The 32-year-old actress said, “Actually, ito yung masasabi kong first love team talaga. Kasi, when I first had my break in ABS-CBN that was Dream Dad, it was supposed to be Maxene Magalona and Zanjoe Marudo yung first plot nun. Ewan ko ba kung paano ako nakalusot in the middle. Naging kami ni Zanjoe in the long run.

“After that, I got pregnant. Then, it's always been supporting [role] talaga.

“This is my first like, from the beginning, love team talaga. I got excited kasi at my age I got to be partnered with someone young.”

In connection to this, Beauty wants to set an example that being in a love team is not only for young actors.

She said, “Para sa akin, age is just a number, e. It's how you feel about yourself, how you carry yourself. So, I want to break that wall here in the Philippines kasi you're being boxed to that type of role.

“But, actually, when you're at this age, you have more freedom to do things. Wala ka nang takot, e, parang comfortable ka na with yourself.”

The also stressed, “I want to inspire other actresses as well to take care of themselves and don't limit yourselves to just kung ano yung roles na binibigay sa 'yo. Kung ano yung binigay sa 'yo, may kabit na effort na maging mas interesting siya tingnan. So, excited ako na siya yung una kong project sa GMA.

“I'm very thankful with GMA na ang dami nilang binibigay na projects na na-explore ko yung sarili ko. Now that Stolen Life is doing well. Thank you very much to everyone watching. Also, Walang Matigas na Pulis… so parang napa-partner ako sa iba-iba.”

Working together in the future

Meanwhile, both Beauty and Kelvin do not mind working in another project in the future.

“Okay lang naman. Hindi naman halata, e. Minsan nga mas bata pa siyang tingnan kaysa sa akin, e,” said Kelvin.

Then, he praised his on-screen partner, “Ganun siya kaganda. Sinasabi ko nga sa kanya, parang bampira din siya, hindi siya tumatanda. Kahit saan puwede siya, e, ganun. Prayers lang daw 'yan.”

Likewise, Beauty is open to be partnered with Kelvin again.

“Ako, gusto ko pa,” she said. I wanna do movies with him like, my idol, Maricel Soriano in Soltera. I wanna do that with him, deeper and more challenging roles.

“Of course, masaya din like, bahay-bahayan, how do you figure out like a young couple, this and that, nabuntis ako, paano ba 'to… I don't know, there's so many things to do. I wanna do more projects with him, sana meron.”
