The Miss Universe Philippines coronation is still several weeks away, but Michelle Dee is already making her presence felt as she gets the early lead in the Miss Universe Philippines follower sprint.

In the latest post on the official Miss Universe Philippines account, Michelle is at the top spot of number of Kumu followers accumulated as of March 7, with 748 new followers. The candidate that gets the most additional followers at the end of the follower sprint gets an advantage during the pageant's preliminary period in the form of their own make-up room.

The public support for Michelle is to be expected, as the former I Left My Heart In Sorsogon actress was someone netizens pushed heavily to compete in the 2022 Miss Universe pageant.

When Michelle was announced as part of the Top 50 candidates of the 2022 pageant, netizens were ecstatic, with some even using the hashtag #DeePaTaposAngLaban.

Michelle joins two other pageant title-holders that are part of Miss Universe Philippines 2022 contestants, Celeste Cortesi and Katrina Llegado. Celeste was Miss Earth Philippines 2018 while Katrina was Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019.

Aside from netizens, Michelle's fellow celebrities also cheered on her decision to join Miss Universe Philippines 2022, including former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, former Miss International Kylie Verzosa, former Miss World Philippines Katarina Rodriguez, former Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Samantha Bernardo, and former Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados.

Other famous names include Kapuso Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista, Athena Madrid, David Licauco, Max Collins, Kyline Alcantara, and Sarah Lahbati.
