Ngunit ang magalang na tumanggi si Bela, “I won't talk about it muna, thank you.”

“When I entered this project, I was feeling a bit sad or parang heavy,” ani Bela.
Paliwanag niya, “Siguro ano lang, stuff at work. Mabigat lang, mabigat yung… Tapos, ayun, naglilipat ako ng bahay. Parang nagsunud-sunod. I was doing a lot of things.
“Yun lang naman, nothing specific. Parang I was going through a tough time and also health concerns.
I had to update them constantly, I had to choose projects.
"And I didn't want to let this one go kasi ngayon ko lang makakatrabaho nga si Inay sa ganitong capacity. So, I felt like it was important for me to stay here, and parang mabigat yung feeling.
"I didn't want to enter a project feeling that way kasi parang disservice sa mga katrabaho ko.”
Sa panayam matapos ang media conference, inamin ni Bela na malaking tulong ang Life After You, lalo na ang suporta mula sa mga katrabaho niya rito, para gumaan ang kanyang nararamdaman.
“The whole production was so helpful. I was in and out of the hospital. It was starting to affect my health. I was so stressed out. I couldn't sleep. I lost weight, dropped to 48 kilos.
“It was affecting me physically. But everyone was kind.”
Pero aniya, "It was mostly work stuff. I was reading a lot of things and hearing a lot of things I could easily refuted. But at the time, I was still part of the project. I did not want to do anything. I lost my fight. Parang, I felt this was so unfair I did not want to say anything.”
Dagdag pa niya, “I gave more than a thousand percent in that project. I feel like everybody there also knew that.
“I was surprised nga, e, that so many things came out, sspecially because I was still working on it. Like I would still show up to set, and I was still there for two more weeks after that.
“So I started feeling bad kasi I was thinking who can I trust here and what's happening here. Kasi, I was still talking to everybody and people were also talking to me.
“There were names mentioned and the names that were mentioned were also still my friends. And they still are my friends up to this day. And people reached out, so it was very confusing for me.”
“I started questioning everything I know about life. Like, who to trust, what to do, what to say, what I can't say. And I didn't treat this project differently from any of my projects,” ani Bela.
“Like I said kanina, everything's easily refutable. I have receipts. Even something as simple as always being late.
“I could have easily refuted that. Kasi, I come on set sometimes earlier than the production [team]. I was late once— Kinagat ako ng aso, so I had to go to the hospital. And they knew that.
“So parang ako lang, it's so unnerving that you can make up so many things. Or you can read about yourself in such a different light.
“I started questioning myself. Did I do something wrong? So, I started reaching out to the people that were mentioned. Did I do this to you? Did I ever say this? Did I make you feel this way? And everybody's like, no, we don't know where this is coming from.”
Kuwento niya, “I'm not gonna lie, napasubo talaga ako. I felt scared to even be on set again. It really affected me a lot. I had to see so many doctors.”
“Like I said, it was affecting me on a physical level. I felt like I couldn't defend myself. Every time something would die down, another thing would pop up.
“And I was like, where's this coming from na? Even things about my family would start coming out. My family's very private.
“In all my interviews, you never see pictures or videos of my parents or my siblings. Because they're private people, they don't work in our industry, so they really shy away from this. I felt really bad that they got dragged into this.”
Sa huli, muling nagpasalamat si Bela sa pagdating ng mga proyekto tulad ng pelikulang Life After You at stage play na People, Places, and Things.
“This movie really helped me. It was such a cathartic project for me. And also the play that I did.
“Both processes were very, very cathartic for me. I think they helped me learn a lot about myself and the people I worked with,” pagtatapos niya.
