Alternative pop-rock band Better Days is back on Playlist Live two years after its previous guesting, bringing not only a performance but also a deeper look into its musical journey and growth as a group.
Composed of Nigel Aboy, Nimroi Garcia, Kit de Gala, and Herman dela Cruz Aman, the band talked about its evolving sound, creative process, and the inspiration behind its music before performing its uplifting track, "Tuloy Pa Rin Ako."
According to vocalist and guitarist Nigel, the song reflects what the band has been going through in recent months.
"'Yung mood ng band namin lately, kami marami kaming personal struggles pero, tumutuloy pa rin kami despite what we're feeling. 'Yung mga hindrances, kung baga challenges... ang sarap din harapin nun at ma-overcome. 'Yun 'yung vibe namin ngayon," he said.
Looking back on the past two years, vocalist and keyboardist Nimroi said the band's relationship has grown beyond making music together.
"I think 'yung music nag-evolve na in such a way na I think we've gotten to know each other more on a personal way. Kung baga parang hindi na tayo magkabanda lang, parang naging magkapatid na rin tayo."
He added that the group has become "more persevering" and "a lot more comfortable around each other."
When asked to describe Better Days' music, Nimroi chose one word: "sincere."
"Even the songs we cover, pinag-iisipan namin. We want to personally connect doon sa message ng kanta. I'd like to believe people feel that energy from us," he said.
