This year marks another milestone for the Philippines as Nation's Girl Group BINI makes its debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Making history as the first Filipino and P-pop girl group to perform at the festival, BINI proudly represented the country with performances of “Shagidi,” “Karera,” “Salamin, Salamin,” “Pantropiko,” and more.
Continuing their global appearance on FOX 11 Los Angeles, the group warmly shared their experience of debuting at the big festival.
"Well, it was such a surreal experience. We're just so grateful and proud to be able to showcase our talent on that stage. It's always been our dream to perform at Coachella. At first, we're so nervous, but the crowd's energy gave us so much confidence," Stacey shared.
Marking a remarkable moment in their careers, BINI admitted they were overwhelmed by the love and support from Filipinos and fans.
" After we went on stage, we all cried. Seeing all the Filipino flags, their faces, hearing all these cheers, it's so magical for us. This is the moment," Colet shared.
Sheena added, "Of course, we love the support that our kababayans gave us. Like, they have these streaming parties. Even in our company, they had their own streaming parties. So we really appreciate the effort."
Beyond Filipinos, BINI were also delighted to receive support from international festivalgoers.
"I think a lot of them are actually being like 'Oh, why haven't we discovered BINI sooner?' That is honestly such a compliment for us because it's what we always wanted. Representing the Filipinos is such a memorable moment for us. Representation to us is very important in the entire global scene," Mikha said.
Aside from performing, the group also enjoyed sets by global stars such as Justin Bieber and BLACKPINK's Lisa. They admitted to feeling star-struck by many of the artists present.
