Binibining Pilipinas on the deleted post, "There was no intention to throw malice at any individual."

Binibing Pilipinas issued a statement following their recent controversial Facebook post that involved the organization's representative to this year's Miss International.

In a statement released on social media on October 2, Binibining Pilipinas apologized for the said post, containing a photo of Hannah Arnold on Miss International's official Facebook page, with the caption "Naturaaaaaal woman."

The popular beauty pageant took down the post shortly after receiving backlash for allegedly throwing shade at the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who is openly gay and a proud member of the LGBT community.

The statement read, "Binibining Pilipinas would like to apologize for the recent caption posted on our Facebook page. There was no intention to throw malice at any individual. But we understand the impression created by the said post given its timing.

"The organization has always been about celebrating Filipinas of all backgrounds. We will never consciously do anything to minimize the experience and the truth of anyone."

According to Binibining Pilipinas, this mishap served as a lesson for them to be more careful on what they post online.

"BBP acknowledges the sentiments of the netizens. We took down the social media post, and we will ensure that future posts will be properly vetted and cleared by the organization. Moving forward, we commit to being more mindful online."

In the last part of the statement, Binibining Pilipinas also "requests all netizens to please spare the BBP queens from negative comments and messages since they had nothing to do with the post."

More so, "We wish for everyone's continuous support in their upcoming endeavors."

Binibining Pilipinas had been the official national franchise holder of the Miss Universe Organization since 1964.

In December 2019, the Miss Universe franchise in the country was officially granted to a new organizing body, Miss Universe Philippines, with Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup-Lee as its national director.
