'Black Mirror' creator Charlie Brooker is not keen on creating a sixth season of the dystopian sci-fi series given what the world is going through right now.

It might take a while before we get a sixth season of the hit dystopian science fiction series Black Mirror.

Aside from the fact that film and television productions have been suspended due to concerns over COVID-19, Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker is unsure if audiences want to consume stories where life as we know it is falling apart.

He admitted that he is not writing anything for the series at the moment.

"At the moment, I don't know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I'm not working away on one of those," he says in an interview with the Radio Times.

Brooker also said that he is working on more light-hearted stories instead.

"I'm sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I've been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh," he shares.

Black Mirror currently has five seasons, with the latest being released in 2019.

It also has a choose-your-own-adventure-style standalone movie called Black Mirror: Bandersnatch which was released in 2018.
